Come walk in our Winter Woodland Forests

Imagine your own Winter Wonderland Forest...
They did.

This art project was awesome! I found a few crayon resist art images on Pinterest (with no links to any websites-sorry, no references). With a few requirements of trees and branches, I let the students be creative. Here is what they came up with:

Crayon & Watercolor Resist Art Project

 Materials Needed:

  • white or light blue paper
  • white crayon and brown crayon (for branches)
  • other crayon colors (for cabin or animals if desired)
  • watercolors & brush (for trees, sky and ground)

  • They had the choice of using white paper(with brown branches) or light blue paper(with white branches).
  • All they needed to do is make sure their trees and ground has plenty of white crayon snow to create a colorful WINTER WONDERLAND! I love these!

3-D Snowflakes

Bring on the snowflakes baby! This is such a simple way to make 3-D snowflakes without much thought(cut out of cheap white floppy paper).  Star Tutorial Here

My kids and I cut out a bunch of regular snowflakes (even my two year-old) one snowy Sunday afternoon and hung them as garland above the reading bench.

Just a side note: I haven't posted on my website for over 2 months! Wow, we still created art during that time, but it was a nice break from the net I must admit.  Did I mention I'm having our 4rth baby in March?

Making Our CLAY SNOWMAN Family

This was so much fun for the fam!
Making snowmen out of clay...

Not that we really wanted to have the snow come as early as it did, but we did enjoy sculpting our snowman family! Each of us in our family made a snowman to represent ourself: my hubby, myself, our daughter (8 years), our son (6), and I made our baby girl's (18 mos). My hubby and I are in the rear admiring the view...ahhh...
